More flexibility: Bürkert's multiCELL transmitter / controller type 8619 will be available in a new housing version and optional 110/230 VAC supply starting in June 2014 Bürkert's modular multi-channel multiCELL transmitter/controller type 8619 is a customisable measuring system with an extended range of functionalities that can work with multiple types of sensors. With this new variant, fluid technology specialist Bürkert will extend the scope of their type 8619 which has been available only for panel installation so far. Starting in June, there will be a new, separate housing version which will offer more flexibility in installation, for example on walls, railings or pipelines. The new variant can be supplied with a 12…36 VDC supply, as before, or alternatively with 110 / 230 VAC supply.

Bürkert fulfils DIN EN 61439 The new series of standards for the construction of switch and control systems, DIN EN 61439, will take effect on 1 November 2014, superseding the previous standard DIN EN 60439 with a transition period. Affected are all switch and control systems for the operation of machines and systems, as well as power distributors for high current applications. The reason for the new legislation is to improve the reliability and safety of such systems. The required documentation for planners will increase significantly as a result of the new standard. In the future, detailed type and item certifications as well as thermal calculations will be required for all switch and control systems.

Bürkert sponsors hydrogen electric race car The fluid technology specialist Bürkert provided a fluid control system for the fuel cell stack of the hydrogen electric race car "Forze VI". The racing team is run by students of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The hydrogen electric race car will attempt to break the record for fuel cell powered vehicles on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. Besides records the goal is to compete against petrol powered race cars to demonstrate how fast green technology can be. Bürkert will present the race car at this year's Hannover Fair (Hall: 27, Booth: D63).
